The moving elegance found in Carolina Herrera's designs was on full display, classily showcased by Wes Gordon, above the picturesque Brooklyn Bridge. Amidst the rise of progressive indie brands, Carolina Herrera's Fall-Winter 2024 - 2025 collection stood out powerfully at the fashion show held on the 41st floor of the new skyscraper - 180 Maiden Lane.

The collection's allure came from its blend of strength, sophistication and grace, masterfully styled against the backdrop of the East River and Brooklyn Bridge. Gordon, while honouring the brand's upscale heritage, subtly transitioned it towards future trends. He astounded everyone with a sophisticated opening outfit: a red knit roll-neck top perfectly complemented a delicately dimpled and pleated bias-cut silk skirt worn over slim pants, with lacquer red high heels to finish the look. The meeting of architectural pencil pants with beautifully flowing ruffles reflected his creative brilliance.

Excellent A-line ball gowns made of black and white silk faille soon followed. A designer pushing his craft to perfection, ensuring every clothing item had a seamless finish and fit. Among other highlights was a magnificent, imperial Roman purple gown, with four tiers of ruffled gazar, printed with peonies and hand-finished with oversized fabric peonies, worn by supermodel Caroline Trentini.

Gordon went on to produce an homage to the fusion of beauty, strength, and resilience, evidenced in his bold color blocking techniques. He firmly believed that beauty and power were complementary, not opposing qualities. "Each pleat, gather and flower was result of intensive thought, with not a single superfluous item," Gordon explained.

The show saw a parade of stars, including Demi Moore, Diane Kruger, Avantika, Becky G, Harley Viera, and Hannah Bronfman, among others. The production, styled excellently by Marie Chaix, included music by Frederic Sanchez that accentuated the brand's Latin American roots with Beyonce's "Halo" and Rosalia's "Tuya".

The panoramic view of New York City from the venue, with Brooklyn Heights to the west, the United Nations to the north, Freedom Tower to the east, and the Statue of Liberty to the south, contributed to the ambiance. It underscored the energy, eternal optimism, and self-assuredness that Carolina Herrera embodies.
