Fate of Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea & Others Revealed in Carabao Cup Fourth Round Draw
Carabao Cup holders Manchester United will face Newcastle United in this season’s fourth round - a repeat of last season’s Wembley final - after the draw was made for the final 16 teams on Wednesday night.
Manchester City’s dreams of going one better than last season and becoming the first English club to win a quadruple were dashed in the third round by Newcastle and Alexander Isak. The Magpies will fancy their chances of going all the way and ending their decades-long major trophy drought.
Chelsea have earned some respite from a tough Premier League campaign by beating new foes Brighton and will now face Championship side Blackburn Rovers.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are set to play Bournemouth after coming from behind against Leicester in round three. Arsenal’s reward for narrowly beating Brentford is a fourth round tie with West Ham.
Interestingly, either League Two’s Mansfield Town, the lowest ranked reamining team, or League One’s Port Vale are guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals after being drawn against each other.
Fourth round fixtures will be played in the week commencing Monday 30 October.
