Sources have told 90min that Brighton & Hove Albion could allow Moises Caicedo to leave the club this summer if his valuation is met.

While the Seagulls are not a selling club in the long-term, they are an analytically driven club and every player has their price. Alexis Mac Allister is set to leave this summer, but many within Brighton's hierarchy believe he is the only key player who should have an exit sanctioned ahead of the 2023/24 season.

However, if bidding for Caicedo surpasses a certain number – believed to be £80m – Brighton are prepared to have conversations about his future. In January, they rejected all offers for the midfielder, with Chelsea and Arsenal seeing bids of up to £70m knocked back. Despite Caicedo expressing his desire to leave at the time, he signed a new long-term contract with the club until 2027 with an option for a further year.

Arsenal are still very interested in Caicedo, while Liverpool and Manchester United also have him on their radar. Manchester City have him as a potential backup to top target Jude Bellingham, who is likely to join Real Madrid this summer. Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi is keen to keep his key players, but potentially receiving £150m for Mac Allister and Caicedo – who cost a combined £11m – would be a remarkable piece of business for any club.

If those deals are approved, it has been made clear that Brighton will reinvest in the squad. They have already agreed summer deals for Watford's Joao Pedro for a club-record fee of £30m, as well as James Milner on a free transfer from Liverpool.
