Real Madrid Beware: Bernardo Silva Vows Revenge
Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is confident that his team will be able to eliminate Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. The English champions have reached the semi-finals for the third consecutive season after ending Bayern Munich's journey in the quarter-finals with a 4-1 aggregate victory. City will now face holders Real Madrid in a rematch of last year's semi-final. Silva is optimistic that his team can exact revenge on Real Madrid, who defeated them last year. Speaking to BT Sport, Silva said, "Hopefully yes! We will go for it definitely. We always go for it, but we feel the team is very, very confident at the minute. I think we are going through."
Manchester City has not lost any matches since February 5, a 1-0 defeat by Tottenham. Bernardo said that the team has regained their momentum, and they feel confident once again. "Now, the team is very consistent, the way we're playing, we feel we have a chance in every competition. We're going for that," he added.
Manchester City and Real Madrid have played against each other eight times since the former made their Champions League debut in 2012, with three wins each and two draws.
In other news, Chelsea and Real Madrid will face off in the second leg of the quarter-finals. Chelsea has to deal with several injury and suspension issues as they look to progress to the next round. Predictions for the game and possible lineups have also been discussed ahead of the match.
