Amy Schumer had success using the popular weight loss drug Ozempic, but she quit taking the medicine after deciding the side effects weren’t worth it.

The conversation started after Amy, 43, appeared as a guest on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM show. Howard, 71, admitted that he “f–king hates Ozempic,” before asking about the comedian’s side effects.

“I have this gene – GDF15 – which makes you extremely prone to nausea, which is why I was so sick during my pregnancy,” Amy said during the Wednesday, January 29, episode of The Howard Stern Show. “So, I tried Ozempic almost three years ago, and I was, like, bedridden. I was like vomiting, and then you have no energy.”

The I Feel Pretty star continued, “But other people take it, and they’re all good.”

Howard said that the drug “drives [him] crazy” because he “tries so hard to be thin.”

“I was so hopeful when I heard that you said, ‘Oh, it made me sick.’ I went, ‘Oh good!’ because everyone’s going to get sick on it and I’ll be back to being the only one who’s thin,” Howard joked. “Every day you read something new about it like how it prevents Alzheimer’s, it gives you superpowers.”

Amy added, “No, I tried it and I was vomiting and in bed and my son’s like, ‘Can you play tag?’ and I’m like, ‘I can’t.’ I was, like, shriveling away. I lost 30 pounds so quick, and I looked great, but I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow so, what’s the point?”

The Trainwreck actress has always been open about her struggles with body-shaming and in 2017, she even admitted that early on in her career she was told she needed to lose weight.

“I’m what Hollywood calls very fat,” Amy said during Netflix’s Amy Schumer: The Leather Special. “Before I did anything, somebody like explained to me, ‘Just so you know, Amy, no pressure, but if you weigh over 140 pounds, it will hurt people’s eyes. And I was like, ‘ OK.’ I just bought it. I was like, ‘OK, I’m new to town. So I lost weight.'”

However, it was those words that caused her to rethink her weight loss journey later in life.

“I look very stupid skinny. My dumb head stays the same size but then my body, like, shrivels and I just look like a Thanksgiving Day parade [balloon] of Tonya Harding,” Amy said. “Nobody likes it. It’s not cute on me.”

However, in 2022, Amy wanted to be honest with her fans and explained that she did go under the knife for liposuction a couple of years after she gave birth to her son.

“Cut to turning 40, after having a C-section and being like, ‘Hi! I can’t feel my FUPA anymore!’” Amy said during a March 3, 2022, appearance on Chelsea Handler’s “Dear Chelsea” podcast. “Like, and it just is out there and endometriosis. And my endometriosis surgery, I was like, ‘I healed well.’ So, I was like, ‘Can I get lipo?’ And I got lipo, and I’m feeling really good.”

The Snatched star continued, “I just wanted to say that because if anybody sees me in pictures or anything and they’re like, ‘She looks thinner,’ and whatever, it’s because I had a surgery. “It’s too hard, and I just wanna be real about it.”
