Danielle Savre’s acting career started at the age of 7 and at 12, she began going for film and TV roles. By the age of 15, she was fully committed to acting. Her recurring role of Callie on the WB show Summerland marked a turning point in her career and she has not looked back since.

Currently, 34 years old, Savre is starring as Maya Bishop on ABC’s Station 19. She states that this is her favorite role thus far as she has grown as an individual, actor and director throughout the six seasons. She looks forward to seeing how it all continues to progress in future seasons.

Savre navigates her physically and emotionally demanding role with great enthusiasm. Having being introduced to a variety of sports and activities by her active parents, she now prioritizes preventative care to mitigate the risks of injuries. It is also necessary for her to keep up with a good sleep pattern to deal with the emotionally taxing scenes. To uplift her spirits after such scenes, meditating in an infrared sauna, as well as spending time with friends and family helps.

Maya Bishop’s journey has been both diverse and fulfilling. Maya has had to face her demons with every season, inspire herself to overcome her faults and become a better person in the end. Savre admits that she has been inspired by Maya’s journey too, and it has encouraged her to embrace vulnerability in the pursuit of happiness. The current challenge that both have is how to balance their career with their marriage/s. It’s not an easy task, but crucial for their well-being.

Savre enjoys the Station 19 family because it feels like a big, fun, happy family. Station 19 is definitely her favorite role thus far because she has been challenged as both an actor and now director since her directorial television debut in season 6. Her passion and mission is to represent women’s stories that have not been told enough or at all.

I have a strong inclination towards playing women in roles that lack representation or in male-dominated workforces. These include women who are badasses, female superheroes, and those facing the pressures of being a woman. I like to portray characters that challenge traditional norms of femininity and family, such as a woman who wants to have it all and succeeds, but at what cost? I have always wanted to represent women's stories that have been overlooked or underrepresented. Earlier in my career, I played roles that only served as the object of desire or the victim, but that did not fulfill me. If I use my talent to bring a character to life, she must have a positive impact on the world.

I enjoy glamming up and indulging in make-up and hair artistry on the weekends. Elizabeth Arden's Grand Entrance Mascara and Kosas Eyebrow Gel are my go-to products, along with natural ones like Saie for foundation. I love Too Faced Matte Chocolate Bronzer, Nudestix matte blush, and Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Liner and Lipstick. My latest discovery is Laneige Berry Lip Balm which adds a shine without the stickiness. I experiment with eyeshadow, but I always go back to Urban Decay's Naked Heat eyeshadow palette.

For my facial routine, I swear by Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser, Dermalogica Multi-Active Toner, Shiseido Wrinkle Smoothing Contour Serum, and Wrinkle Smoothing Cream. The cream may be thick, but my skin needs it on dry California days. I also love the Shiseido Pure Retinol Eye Mask. Occasionally, I try new products from Sephora, knowing that I can return them if they do not work for me.

Dry shampoo is a life-saver for me, and Amika is my favorite brand. I have fine blonde hair, but a lot of it, so this product gives my hair life when it gets oily. The scent is a plus.

My daily and nightly routine includes the mentioned products, and I may switch it up depending on the weather. I use Osea's Anti-Aging Serum paired with its Blemish Balm or Sisley's Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream for something lighter. I cannot do without an eye cream like Dr. Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Eye Gel or Sisley's Black Rose Eye Contour Fluid. A little face steam with added lavender or eucalyptus is a nice self-care routine. I recently invested in Dr. Dennis Gross Pro Facial Steamer, and Laser Genesis has worked wonders for me at Kate Somerville in Los Angeles.

The fire on my show is movie magic. For safety reasons, no real fire is used, only smoke machines similar to those in Halloween haunted houses that use water and a glycol-based fluid. The VFX team enhances the smoke effect in post-production to make it appear realistic.

I keep my skin hydrated by drinking at least three 32oz Hydroflasks a day. Lack of hydration makes my skin look dull. While I use different products on-camera catered to my makeup artist's preferences, they do not irritate or clog my skin. Luckily, I do not have to apply a lot of makeup to play a firefighter, which is a plus.

I am so grateful to have traveled to as many places as I have and that is such a difficult question to answer. The Maldives felt like heaven on earth with the most beautiful sunsets and the clearest blue waters. Scotland was vast and almost prehistoric with its huge mountains all covered in green. Whereas Iceland was stark white in winter but at its edges were black sand beaches and immense glaciers. It was desolate yet stunning and showcased the magnitude of Mother Nature’s capabilities. Going on safari and seeing animals in their natural habitat in Kruger National Park was life-altering, as was witnessing the work that CARE was doing in the small villages in Zambia and meeting the men, women and children in those communities. Trekking through Europe always feels like an invaluable history lesson. And exploring the wonderful cities and National Parks of the United States by RV reminded me how diverse and beautiful my own country is. With all that travel I still have so much more to see. But I have to say the place that feels like home every time I go is northern Montana.

We will all just have to wait and see what our brilliant room of writers comes up with. But I know whatever it is will continue to be entertainingly inspiring to watch and rewarding to be a part of and I can’t wait!
