After Six Years of Dating, 'Little People, Big World' Star Matt Roloff Pop the Question to Caryn Chandler and Gets Engaged
Good news for Little People, Big World fans as stars, Matt Roloff and Caryn Chandler have announced their engagement after being together for five years.
“After six wonderful years together, I asked Caryn to marry me, and she said ‘yes’!” said Matt, 61, in a statement to People on April 19th. “Our plan is to enjoy our engagement, and we are looking forward to a simple but elegant wedding in 2024.”
Although the TLC personality and Caryn, 55, are happily in love, their relationship has not always been easy. After his split from ex-wife Amy Roloff, Matt started a relationship with Caryn, the long-time manager of Roloff Farms. Initially, not all his family members were thrilled with the match, but they have since come to accept the pairing. However, Amy, 60, has not always been comfortable with the romance.
During a June 2022 interview with Us Weekly, Amy openly admitted that she would prefer not to attend Matt and Caryn’s wedding. Her husband Chris Marek also noted that they most likely wouldn’t be invited to the event as Matt had previously mentioned that it would be a small affair.
Despite the rocky start, Matt and Caryn’s engagement doesn’t come as a surprise as he has previously expressed his interest in proposing to her. “Well, that’s coming downstream I hope…” he wrote on Instagram in 2020. “You never know what might happen next! For now, @carynchandler1 and I are living a very happy and our very best life together … enjoying our kids and my grandkids. A wonderful season of life!”
However, during a 2021 episode of LPBW, Matt joked that they wouldn’t be tying the knot until at least 2022. “We’re not,” said Caryn while playfully smacking him during a confessional interview. “He hasn’t asked me.”
It seems like the timing is now right, and the couple is excited to start their new chapter together, with a wedding in 2024. Congratulations to the happy couple!
