Power forward for the Las Vegas Aces, Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, surprised fans on September 9 when she triumphantly returned to the court just two months after giving birth to her second child.

Parker-Tyus shared that her newborn son Yoshua was born on July 1 in a heartwarming Instagram post welcoming him to the world. Fans filled the comments with messages of congratulations for Parker-Tyus on the newest addition to her family.

While many were surprised to see her back in the game so quickly, Parker-Tyus herself was feeling ambitious about her potential to bounce back early on.

“I did the research to see how quickly people came back,” Parker-Tyus shared with The Associated Press. “Can it be done?, I always have the mindset that I’m built differently.”

Regardless of the hard work it would take, Parker-Tyus was committed to contributing to the team during her first season with the Aces.

“I’m 100 percent committed,” Parker-Tyus had shared with the Las Vegas Review Journal when she publicly announced her pregnancy back in April. “I’m still a basketball player. I still plan on playing. I’m just having a baby.”

Not only was Parker-Tyus back in the game much sooner than expected, but she hit the ground running and played an impressive game, scoring eight points for the Aces and helping to carry them to their ultimate victory against the Chicago Sky.

The Aces celebrated Parker-Tyus’ game performance in a post on their official Instagram account featuring a photo of her smiling and holding up a peace sign with the caption “8 points in 8 minutes.”

Fans took to the comments of the post to further praise and congratulate Parker-Tyus on her success. “8 is the number of new beginnings!! Double 8s!!! Lets GO!!!” one fan commented.

Fellow WNBA player Kalani Brown of the Phoenix Mercury also commented her support on the post, saying, “We love an efficient queen..” followed by the tongue sticking out emoji and the fire emoji.

This victory for the Las Vegas Aces makes 15 in a row, and with Parker-Tyus now on the court with them, their chance at the WNBA Championship is certainly looking strong.
