In an Instagram post on January 19, 2024, Ashley shared details about her life-threatening experience with septic shock during a holiday. She started with a tonsillitis infection, which quickly escalated into a critical septic shock that affected several of her organs. Despite the initial prognosis, she is grateful for her improved health.

During this period, Ashley was admitted to three different hospitals, spent a week in ICU, and endured various tests, scans, injections, and tremendous pain. She is still recovering from the ordeal but is relieved to have survived the worst of it.

As per the Mayo Clinic, septic shock results in a significant drop in blood pressure that can potentially harm the lungs, kidneys, liver, and other organs. If the damage is extensive, it can prove fatal.
