Monica Garcia, a notable personality from season 4 of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, will not be returning for the show's subsequent season. Her departure follows a tumultuous reunion episode, characterized by intense confrontation with other members of the cast.

The specifics of her departure remain uncertain, as it has not been clarified whether Monica was expelled from the series or left by her own accord. According to a report by People on January 23, 2024, Monica will not be appearing in season 5 of the show. Her altercations with Heather Gay became the talk of the town, to the point that actress and self-proclaimed housewives fan, Jennifer Lawrence, declared the finale of season 4 to be possibly the "most electrifying reality TV finale."

Bravo, the hosting network of the series, has not furnished any comments on request by Life & Style.

It was Heather who revealed that Monica was indeed behind the notorious Instagram handle, "Reality Von Tease." Originating approximately three years ago, this account was allegedly committed to publicly maligning and exposing former fellow cast member, Jen Shah. Subsequently, Heather along with Lisa Barlow, Meredith Marks, and Whitney Rose were also subjected to online harassment from the same account.

According to Heather, these were clear instances of character assassination. After extensive discussions with her trusted hairdresser, Tenesha, who was also acquainted with Monica, it was determined that Monica was behind them. Tenesha underwent a moral dilemma leading her to help Heather by providing substantial evidence of Monica's deeds, encapsulating screenshots, text messages, DMs, as well as video and audio records.

In a dramatic turn of events, at a dinner in Bermuda, Heather confronted Monica with her proof, leading Monica to admit to her wrongdoings. Following this admission, Heather asked Monica to leave the island.

RHOSLC showrunner Lori Gordon recounts to The Hollywood Reporter the aftermath of these revelations. “She [Monica] was remorseful. I remember sitting with her for an hour, just in silence,” Lori shares. “She often repeated that she was utterly embarrassed. Following our talk, we took a separate flight back home the next morning with part of the crew,” she adds.

Lori attests that no one was aware of Monica's actions, including Bravo. Only when Heather received a call on the last day of her trip did the reality of Monica's actions become apparent. Lori recounts this as the moment that she decided this story needed to be shared with the viewers, to bring them along on this riveting journey.

Monica was a significant participant in the series as the first Latina cast member and as a mother of four. In 2018, she launched her company, Brea Baby, which sells baby swaddles. Although she was largely responsible for reinvigorating the franchise, she lost the trust of her costars due to the controversy surrounding her covert Instagram activity.
