Usher and Jennifer Goicoechea Tie the Knot in Las Vegas Following Super Bowl 2024 Halftime Show
The famous "My Boo" singer, Usher, has officially tied the knot with Jennifer Goicoechea. The couple got married over the Super Bowl 2024 weekend in Las Vegas, following Usher's halftime performance on Sunday, February 11.
According to People, the couple solemnized their wedding amidst the Super Bowl celebrations. Life & Style reported earlier that the duo had secured a marriage license in Las Vegas ahead of Usher's performance. However, representatives for the singer did not immediately return Life & Style's comment request at that time.
The couple, who share two children, Sovereign and Sire, had been dating for five years before getting married.
Before his magnificent performance at the big game, the 45-year-old singer affirmed his readiness to marry the love of his life.
“Starting this journey, I found an amazing partner who is also my best friend. I thought, wow, this could be great,” Usher shared with People before the Super Bowl LVIII.
He further expressed his feelings about getting married, “It's an honor to share life with someone who reciprocates your love and wants to spend their life with you. We’ve indeed made a lifelong commitment because of our children. It wouldn’t be strange for us to get married because we essentially already did. You know what I mean?”
The singer continued to gush about his partner, “I have an amazing helpmate and a strong support system. We’ve created a fantastic balance in our relationship. I’m still enthusiastic about my career and have an amazing partner to help me navigate the challenges of being a young father.”
This marriage is not Usher's first. He was previously married to Tameka Foster from 2007 to 2009, with whom he has two older children, Usher “Cinco” V and Naviyd Raymond. In August 2010, post their separation, he told People, “Although our marriage didn't work out, I’m grateful for what it was. I still love her as the mother of my children, but we just couldn’t stay married.”
Usher was later wedded to his second wife, Grace Harry, from 2015 to 2018, but they did not have children together.
