Travis Kelce, the popular football player, recently addressed rumors regarding an alleged incident where he was seen pushing aside the security guards of the famed singer, Taylor Swift, during their night out in New York City.

On the recent episode of the “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce, the 34-year-old player briefly touched upon his weekend with Swift, aged 33, on October 14 and 15. Photographs of the two celebrities holding hands, first at the afterparty of Saturday Night Live, then at a dinner date the following day, created quite a buzz. Video clips of them moving towards their car, with Kelce seemingly softly pushing one of Swift's guards, went viral. Fans started speculating that Kelce had even informed the guards that he could "take it from here".

Jason, 35, probed his brother about the possibility of the guards reacting negatively to his supposed gesture. Kelce was quick to clarify, saying, "I didn’t push him. I placed my hand on the gentleman’s back to let him know I was behind him. If I would have pushed him, he probably would have turned around and tased me.” Seizing the moment, Jason humorously replied, “That sounds like a way that somebody who pushed somebody would describe pushing them.”

Following the light-hearted banter, Kelce commented jovially, “’Good sir, can you excuse me? I need to get the door. Sorry. I’m right behind you. I don’t want to startle you. I know it’s your job to keep crazy people away, and if you just randomly get pushed in the back while standing in front of a door, that could probably be a little alarming.’”

Shifting to a more serious tone, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end openly commended Swift's security personnel as “good people”. He further shared whether he feels like a security guard when he is accompanying Swift.

“I feel like whenever I’m on a date I’m always having the sense of, like, I’m a man in the situation,” Kelce explained. “I’m, like, protective.” He further noted that there is always the feeling of self-awareness. Jason supplemented by recommending Travis to choose a seat at a restaurant from where all entrances and exits are visible to be aware of any potential threats.

Kelce and Swift are currently deemed as one of the trending celebrity pairs in the pop culture. Known as “Traylor” among fans, their story goes back to July on the “New Heights” podcast when Kelce disclosed that he had tried to gift Swift a friendship bracelet containing his number during her tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Swift, however, did not interact with any fans during the show. Sources reported in September that Swift thought his attempt was endearing and they connected later.

Gossips around their romantic relationship started making the rounds in September and climaxed when Swift showed up to cheer for Kelce during the Chiefs match against the Chicago Bears on September 24. Following this event, Swift was seen supporting two more Chiefs games on October 1 and October 12. Reports also suggest that Swift celebrated Kelce’s birthday with him in Kansas City on October 6.
