In the 'VPR' Season Finale, Tom reportedly asked Katie's mother to be quiet while defending Raquel
During the season finale of Vanderpump Rules, fans were shocked when Raquel Leviss disrespected Katie Maloney’s mother, Teri Maloney. But according to Kristen Doute, that wasn't the worst of it. She claims that Tom Sandoval told Katie’s mom to “shut the f–k up” while defending Raquel.
On the “Sex, Love and What Else Matters” podcast, Doute and her friend Janet Elizabeth, who was present for the altercation at SUR, discussed the incident. “The way that Sandoval spoke to Teri was, like, insane. And I was so appalled that [Tom] Schwartz would not, just one time, Tom Schwartz, you step in and you go, ‘Dude, you do not speak to my ex mother-in-law [like that],’” said Doute.
Despite this shocking allegation, a source close to production has denied it to Life & Style. Sandoval has yet to address the claim directly, but Katie’s brother, Joey Maloney, called out the cast on Twitter, saying, “You act tough and talk to my mom and my sister like that when you are on camera but you would never dare do that when your ego wasn’t being boosted.”
Teri thanked her son for defending her and claimed that Sandoval subjected her to “vitriol attacks” three times. Fans were quick to support Teri and express their anger towards Sandoval and Raquel’s behavior. One fan wrote, “No one should talk to anyone’s mother like that. You handled it like the queen you are!!!!”
In the finale, Katie and Raquel’s explosive fight centered around Raquel’s dismissiveness towards Teri. When Teri asked Raquel about her Mexico smooch with Schwartz, Raquel reacted poorly, prompting Katie to defend her mother and demand respect. The cast of Vanderpump Rules has yet to address the issue further.
