Taylor Swift Opens Up About Going Public with Travis Kelce After Trying to Keep Her Romance with Joe Alwyn Under Wraps
Taylor Swift, after maintaining secrecy around her relationship with Joe Alwyn for over six years, is now open about discussing her personal life. Taylor decided to share her newfound romance with Travis Kelce during her December 6 interview with Time magazine for the first time.
She narrated the start of their romance, sharing how Travis had candidly spoken about her on his podcast, which the artist found remarkably bold. She informed that they started spending time together after that. The period of their relationship going unnoticed was something she appreciated, as they had the time to understand each other better.
The candid revelation by Travis about his admiration for Taylor was made in July following his presence at the Eras tour at Arrowhead Stadium. He had confessed that he wished to have met Taylor and exchanged numbers with her at this event. The duo went public on September 24, as Taylor made an appearance during Travis’ football match in Kansas City.
Taylor shared that they were already a couple by the time she attended the first football match. She denied any speculation that the game was their first date. Taylor was present at numerous other Kansas City Chiefs matches to cheer for Travis. He had also made an attendance at her Eras tour in Argentina on November 11. Both publicly supporting each other at events, she said, symbolized their solidarity and nonchalance about other people being around.
She contrasted this public display of love with her previous experience with Joe. With him, she was hardly seen in public throughout their six-year span of the relationship. This point was subtly brought up in the Time interview, and she added that with Travis, they just take pride in each other’s achievements.
Taylor stated that life is too short and she encourages having adventures. She has regrets about having spent lots of time locked away in her house and feels she can’t get that time back. But now, she feels she trusts more than she did six years ago.
Although she faces scrutiny as she cheers for Travis from a private box at an NFL stadium, she shrugged it off stating that she was there only to support Travis and remains unmindful of how many times the broadcast shows her. Taylor also surprised herself with her newfound liking for the sport, noting that she has been missing out on something exciting.
