Susie Mulder is stepping down from her role as global brand president of Timberland after two and a half years in the position. Nina Flood, who has been acting as the general manager for Europe (EMEA), will take on the temporary role of president. The announcement of Mulder's departure was made public after American media company- Footwear News- accessed internal communications.

Nina Flood, the temporary successor, is a familiar face at VF Corp with a long history with the group. Flood joined VF Group in 2003 as the marketing director for Nautica, a brand then included in the group’s range. In 2016, her role evolved to become the president of the Kipling brand for America. Throughout her tenure, she has managed major brands like Kipling, Eastpak, and Jansport, the latter of which may be on the verge of being sold, as per reports in the American financial press.

American group VF Corp, which lists Timberland as one of its flagship brands, is currently under pressure due to difficult results after a period of growth. Another significant brand within the group, Vans, recently made news when its CEO, Kevin Bailey, announced he was leaving.

In the first half of its fiscal year, ending in late September, Timberland's sales dropped by 6% to $742.5 million. This comes amid growing challenges in the industry.
