Discover Georgia Steel's £250 Love Island black and white date co-ord outfit, and opt for our affordable £14 alternative

The all-star cast of Love Island has been giving us some key style cues, mostly notably an ensemble worn by Georgia Steel on a date night.

Georgia sported a Robbie Linen Two Piece from Reformation that came in monochrome and cost £248. The outfit, comprised of a black mini skirt and a bralet top with white banding at the edges, achieved a blend of elegance, timelessness and attention grabbing - making it an impeccable outfit for a date night in the sun. The black and white ensemble looked effortlessly polished and was the standout attire.

Although Georgia's complete ensemble had an instantaneous appeal for a romantic evening, it was less appealing to shell out £250 for it. That called for putting our fashion hunting skills to use in order to search for something more pocket-friendly.

Fortunately, a nearly identical look was spotted at Nasty Gal which cost a mere £8 (from £45 originally). This similar attire featured a black mini skirt and bralet-style crop top with white trim in a style that Georgia’s Reformation outfit had.

However, the look at an economical price tag was such a hit that it sold out in no time at both Nasty Gal and Debenhams where the brand is stocked. You can set up an alert for restock, just in case your size becomes available again or you can follow the lead of Love Island’s official sponsors, eBay, and try to find it on your favourite resale website.

If you lack the patience for bargain hunting, you may procure an almost identical outfit from Shein at £13.99 (discounted from £14.99). The Shein ensemble, though, is made from a knitted fabric, unlike the linen-blend used for Reformation’s attire. This reduces breathability, although it may be better suited to the current cooler climate in Britain.

The co ord is an exciting alternative sporting a similar monochrome motif of black and white. Its figure-hugging stretch fabric gives you the same feel as Georgia’s Love Island date night outfit. However, the extra strappy bralet top is replaced with a more suitable long-sleeved version given the colder season. The top comes with an off-the-shoulder design that’s perfect for staying warm during the current UK cold spell, as we aren’t all lucky enough to be basking in the South African villa sunshine!
