On February 13, Selena Gomez released “Scared of Loving You,” the first single from her upcoming album, I Said I Loved You First. For the singer, 32, who worked on the record side-by-side with longtime friend-turned-fiancé Benny Blanco, the romantic tune was the perfect intro to their collaboration. “It was a little taste of what we are and how we made this together and how much we loved it and how much we love each other,” Selena told Apple Music 1. “And it just felt like it was meant to be.”

The record producer, 36, concurred, adding, “[In the song, Selena is] like, ‘I’m not scared of dying young or anyone,’ but she’s scared of losing someone that she’s finally created a bond with …. Somehow, by God’s grace, I happen to be that person.”

Now that they’ve found that connection, the duo — who got engaged in December 2024 — are moving full speed ahead. “Selena can’t wait to marry Benny,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style, noting that the $35 million Beverly Hills mansion the couple bought at the end of 2024 makes the perfect wedding location. “Selena envisions it as her and Benny’s forever home. They want to one day tell their kids about their fabulous backyard wedding with their friends and family!”

One big perk of holding their nuptials at their house? It limits the guest list. “If it’s over 40 [people], I tend to get a little overwhelmed,” Selena told Interview about hosting parties. Alas, says the insider, “Selena has so many friends and loved ones, she’s now having a hard time trying to finalize who’s invited!”

No matter who ultimately attends, the ceremony is set to be uniquely Benny and Selena. “It will be a blend of her Christian faith and Benny’s Jewish traditions,” shares the insider. “They’ll write their own vows and inscribe something meaningful on each of their rings.”

According to the insider, foodie Benny — who regularly cooks Selena her faves, like mashed potatoes and coconut shrimp — will oversee the wedding menu and cake. While Selena has found a reception dress, “she still has to decide what she’ll walk down the aisle in,” adds the insider. “They also need to set the date, pick flowers and figure out a color scheme. Selena’s pulled out her old wedding vision board for some inspiration!”

But the lovebirds know starting their life together is the important thing. As Benny told Interview of their romance: “I’m so p—ed that it took this long. It’s like, ‘How did we not figure this out sooner?’”
