Andrew Parker Bowles, the ex-husband of Queen Camilla, attended her coronation alongside King Charles III. Parker Bowles, who was married to Camilla from 1973 to 1995 and shares two children with her, made headlines as he arrived at Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday, May 6.

During the ceremony, three of the exes’ grandsons served as Pages of Honour for the queen, as she was officially declared Queen Consort while Charles was crowned king. Prince William and Prince Harry, Charles’ sons, were also in attendance, alongside Prince George, who served as one of the monarch’s four Pages of Honour. Camilla’s grandsons – Gus and Louis Lopes and Freddy Parker Bowles – also played important roles in the event.

In addition, Tom Parker Bowles, Camilla’s son with Andrew, spoke out in support of Charles. In 2015, he revealed to Australian news program A Current Affair that he “always adored [his] stepfather” and praised his warmth, intelligence, and humanity.

The event was also notable for the absence of Meghan Markle, who stayed home with her children while Harry attended the coronation. Buckingham Palace confirmed that Harry would be present at the ceremony. Meghan’s decision to stay home was reportedly due to the fact that it was her son Archie’s 4th birthday.

Despite Meghan’s absence, the coronation was a special and historic event, with members of the royal family coming together to honor Camilla and Charles as they took on their new roles as Queen Consort and king, respectively.
