On Sunday, Prince Harry made a solo pit stop at the Formula 1 America Grand Prix in Austin. Recently returned from a private getaway in the Caribbean with Meghan Markle, the tanned prince sported a pair of fashionable sunglasses and a black polo without his wife. He toured the Red Bull Racing Garage with Christian Horner, the team’s principal, and after the visit, Red Bull Racing posted a picture of the visit to their Instagram account. Harry was present as Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished first in the US Grand Prix.
Joined by Alexi Robichaux, the CEO of BetterUp, Harry also took a tour of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Garage, later posing alongside Team Mercedes’ CEO Toto Wolff and their breakout driver George Russell, who finished fifth behind Verstappen. Other big names in attendance at the Circuit of the Americas Sunday included Texas resident Elon Musk, Joe Jonas, Patrick Dempsey, and Horner’s wife, Geri Halliwell.
Harry is a longtime fan of F1 racing, and back in 2011, he met Horner when he visited his garage at the British Grand Prix. One of his final engagements as a senior royal in March 2020 involved a visit to the Silverstone Museum alongside F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, and the pair looked at relics from the history of British racing. Hamilton was also racing in Austin on Sunday, but he was disqualified after the race for exceeding the permitted wear on his car.
