Patrick Mahomes' Father Praises Taylor Swift as "Down to Earth" while She Dates Travis Kelce: A "Normal Person"

The father of Patrick Mahomes, Pat Mahomes, is full of praises for singer Taylor Swift who is reportedly in a relationship with Travis Kelce.

In a conversation with Kansas City media outlet Starcade Media, the 53-year-old Pat expressed positive sentiments towards 34-year-old Swift. He narrated how he introduced himself to her, to which she responded with recognition, citing her interest in Netflix's series on quarterbacks.

He further detailed his first interaction with the singer, which included a photo session featuring himself, his wife, and daughter. Pat praised Swift's authenticity, noting her consistency each time they've interacted.

Swift has formed a bond with the Mahomes family due to her time spent watching Travis play for the Kansas City Chiefs. Alongside Travis’ parents, Swift has also developed a close relationship with his wife, Brittany Mahomes. Observers can frequently spot the two women together in suites during games, with Swift even appearing in several of Brittany’s Instagram posts.

Since the pair publicly acknowledged their relationship in September 2023, they have been spending more time together, including over Christmas and New Year's Eve.

They have been open about their relationship, with Travis attributing their meeting to a "Cupid". In a 2023 November conversation with The Wall Street Journal, he explained how mutual acquaintances sparked their connection.

He recounted his attendance at Taylor’s Eras tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium on July 7, 2023, during which he had someone "playing Cupid" for him. Travis first unveiled his interest in the singer during an August 2023 episode of his podcast "New Heights". He joked about wanting to share a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it with Taylor. Although, he wasn't able to do so, someone from Taylor’s team heard about it, thereby leading to their connection.

After Swift contacted him, he mentioned her transparency about the situation and his good fortune. Swift also referred to the start of their relationship during her interview as TIME's Person of the Year in December 2023. She revealed that Travis' podcast story was the beginning, leading to their continued close association.
