A host of actors are set to jet off to Thailand for the third season of the Emmy-winning anthology series, The White Lotus. Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Tayme Thapthimthong, and Parker Posey are confirmed cast members by HBO. They will be joining the returning cast member Natasha Rothwell, resuming her role as Belinda Lindsey, the spa manager. The production of season three of The White Lotus is set to commence in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok in February.

The cast is typically an amalgamation of well-established actors and emerging talents. Posey, an indie sweetheart, has graced movies such as Party Girl, Best in Show, and her most recent, Beau Is Afraid. Bibb has a history with well-known franchises like Iron Man. Equally, Isaacs is known for his role in the Harry Potter franchise. Monaghan is returning to HBO after previously starring in the first season of True Detective. Hetrakul is known for Bangkok Dangerous, and Thapthimthong is a relatively new face in the industry.

Talks about the casting for the third season have been making rounds. Even Jack Black, White's friend, and School of Rock collaborator had to reject rumors of his involvement in The White Lotus. However, according to White, the third season will be "supersized", signifying that it will be "longer, bigger, [and] crazier". It is something White is extremely excited about. Rothwell, too, shared her excitement about the forthcoming season at the Wonka premiere.

The second season of The White Lotus, which was nominated for an Emmy, touched upon issues of sexual power dynamics. It starred Aubrey Plaza, Meghann Fahy, and Theo James, and others. Jennifer Coolidge’s character, Tanya McQuoid-Hunt, met an untimely end at the hands of some “evil gays.” After the conclusion of the second season, White expressed his interest in featuring “something that’s a little more celestial” in the third season. He hinted that the setting could be in Asia and might delve into aspects of spirituality.

As for Posey and Bibb's roles, it remains to be seen whether they will portray fighting yoga mothers on a retreat seeking peace. Expectations are that more details will be revealed by 2025.
