"Nikki Haley Sends Message of Support to Israel with Artillery Shell Heart Drawing"
Nikki Haley, ex-Republican presidential candidate, inscribed "Finish Them!" on an artillery shell while in Israel for a Memorial Day visit. Haley, who served as the U.N. ambassador during Donald Trump's presidency, also penned a heart on the missile and wrote, "America [Loves] Israel Always!"
This action was performed while on tour with Danny Danon, Israel's former U.N. ambassador and current member of its Parliament. A photograph of the visit was shared by Danon, showing both of them signing the shells. “This is what my friend, the former ambassador Nikki Haley, wrote today on a shell during a visit to an artillery post on the northern border,” Danon indicated, “The I.D.F. will win!”
Haley's visit occurred shortly after an Israeli airstrike upon a Palestinian displaced camp in Rafah, Gaza, resulting in the death of at least 45 individuals and hundreds more being injured, as reported by the Gaza Health Ministry.
This action by Haley echoes previous sentiments she expressed about Israel's military actions. “This is not just an attack on Israel, this is an attack on America, because they hate us just as much,” she commented on Fox News, after the October 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas. Haley served as U.N. ambassador during 2018, during which she oversaw the withdrawal of funding meant for Palestinian refugees, criticizing the continued aid to a supposedly “endless number of refugees."
In a 2017 United Nations Security Council meeting on moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, Haley stated that Israel will not succumb to “bullying" by the U.N. or any group of nations. She also highlighted the equal need for peace for both Israeli and Palestinian children.
Possibly, Haley may resume a leadership role in the government if former President Trump wins in November. Despite disapproving of a potential Trump presidency in prior months, Haley recently announced her vote for him. Following her endorsement, Trump claimed they share many similar ideas and thoughts.
Currently, the conflict has led to the deaths of at least 36,615 people, including over 15,130 children in Gaza and the West Bank, as stated by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. Many casualties are a result of bombs supplied by the U.S., which were used in the attack on the displacement camp recently.
In Haley's recent Israel visit, she met Ariel Kahana, a commentator for the Israel Hayom newspaper, owned by Republican donor and strong Israel advocate, Miriam Adelson. Haley proclaimed that Israelis are "the good guys" and are doing the right thing.
