"Single Mum Wins £5 Raffle, Buys First Home with £500k Prize - 'Never Thought I'd Be Able to Buy My 11-Year-Old Son a Home'" - OK! Magazine
A lucky mum has hit the jackpot and secured her dream of homeownership at the age of 30 after winning a life-changing prize raffle. After scooping up a whopping £500,000, the doting mum was delighted as she was able to provide her son, 11, a stable home.
Jade Pilgrim, who hails from west London, found herself in emergency council housing with her son when their private rental was reclaimed by the landlord. Fearing they might never settle down permanently due to the fierce competition in the UK housing market, Jade's hopes were slim.
However, on the advice of a friend, she entered an online competition run by Tramway Path, albeit with some initial doubt. The £5 ticket she bought on a whim turned out to be her golden ticket when the Twenefour brothers, Jason, Will, and Daniel, who founded Tramway Path, rang her up to declare her the winner.
The staggering prize was a whopping £500,000 to buy her own home without the burden of a mortgage. Overwhelmed with joy, Jade exclaimed: 'My life has changed forever. This has given me what I've prayed for everything I've dreamed of, freedom, living life on my own terms.', reports the Mirror.
'[It's] everything I've ever wanted. As soon as I got off that call [telling me I'd won], I ran out of my car and started screaming from the side of the road.'
She added, sharing the moment of disbelief: 'My partner was sitting next to me at the time and was in complete disbelief. I hadn't even told him I'd entered a competition because I didn't think anything would come of it.
'Once I'd calmed down, I rang my mum. At first, she thought it was a joke but once she realised this was the real deal, she started screaming alongside me on the phone.'
Jade, a mum-of-one who first heard the life-changing news on 25 April, has now successfully completed the purchase of her new home. Living in west London with her 11 year old son and partner, Jade is over the moon about becoming the proud owner of a two-bedroom house in Raynes Park, which has potential for expansion.

She shared her excitement: 'It has always been my goal to give my son his own home, but I didn't think I'd be able to do it so soon. My friend told me that there were these three brothers who run house raffles for a fiver.
'I've never entered something like this before, but I thought I'd give it a go. I've been renting for a very long time and wasn't sure when I'd be able to get on the property ladder, I thought it would be many more years at least.'
Tramway Path, known for running 11 competitions previously, has made dreams come true by giving away cash sums to assist people in climbing the property ladder or even handing over homes. In a remarkable turn of events earlier this year, they helped Angelika Wisniewska, a single mum who went from being registered homeless to owning a five-bedroom house mortgage-free, all thanks to winning the £500,000 grand prize from a mere £5 ticket.
