Article by Erin Vanderhoof
Ever since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first child, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, into the world in 2019, they have tried to keep his life private. However, they occasionally share insights about their son and his hobbies. In a recent instance, during a Netflix panel where Meghan acted as a moderator with guests including photographer Misan Harriman and actor David Oyelowo, Meghan disclosed that Archie has taken an interest in photography.
Even though the key point of discussion was "The After", a new short film by Harriman, Meghan seized the opportunity to express her gratitude to Harriman for teaching her son a bit about photography. Meghan quoted, revealing her son's enthusiasm for the craft. She said that Archie, who would not stop insisting he’s not 4 but 4 and a half, was excited to learn more about photography from Harriman. Meghan bought him a camera, however, Archie was quick to notice that it wasn't a Leica, which Mariam owns, prompting laughter from Meghan.
Leica, the renowned German camera brand, is known for its lengthy manufacturing process and significant prices, hence, Meghan jokingly told her son that he would not be getting one. Despite her child's photographic proclivity, Meghan affirmed, "You are not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas".
In spite of the absence of a high-end camera on his Christmas list, Archie will celebrate the festive season with his younger sister, Lilibet. In a recent interaction with E! News, Meghan hinted about the new traditions they are nurturing as a family. Meghan joyfully commented on their evolving traditions and expressed how much she enjoys setting up and decorating the Christmas tree with her children.
