Jess Vestal from Love Is Blind Explains Her Emotional 'EpiPen' Breakup Speech

Jess Vestal, a participant on Love Is Blind season 6, allegedly came across as quite brutal while ending her relationship with Jimmy Presnell, remarking that he would "need his ​EpiPen" on seeing her post-pod transformation. However, the single mother recently explained the background behind the intense dialogue.

29-year-old Jess stated in her Instagram Story on Tuesday, February 20, “I don’t own an EpiPen. But during one of my initial dates with Jimmy — we had many and obviously, not all of them were showcased — he informed me that he had to always carry an EpiPen because his allergies were so severe that his airways would close if he didn’t have it.”

She went on to say, “So, when I was giving my unscripted breakup speech, I was simply heartbroken. I was in a blur and… the EpiPen line unintentionally slipped out, which coincidentally aligned with everything else.”

Jess, an executive assistant, shared that she and 28-year-old Jimmy had conversations about him potentially experiencing an allergic reaction and her role in helping him, hence the EpiPen was a "top-of-mind topic for a few days.”

When Jimmy, a resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, confessed his love for Chelsea Blackwell, Jess delivered her famous speech. Jess had assumed that a proposal from Jimmy was imminent, however, he chose to pursue Chelsea, 31, instead.

In episode 4 of Love Is Blind's sixth season, Jess declared, “When you see and understand what you let go of, you will choke. You will need your EpiPen to reopen your airways because you will be shell-shocked by what you missed out on.”

Her reaction to Jimmy's decision evoked mixed views among fans, some endorsing it while others construed it as crossing a line.

One supporter commented on Instagram, saying Jess can rightfully voice her feelings and that she's above Jimmy's league. Another admirer expressed admiration for Jess's fiery attitude.

Despite such support, there were fans who felt Jess's pride influenced her behavior.

“This is the reason why she remains unmarried and hasn't found love. Just this attitude. She presumes that looking attractive with her cosmetic surgery means men should be falling for her? Not undermining Jimmy, but she needs to self-asses immediately,” stated a comment made by a fan.
