Amid Divorce, Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann Allegedly Have Unpaid Taxes Worth $1 Million
According to TMZ, former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak-Biermann and her estranged husband, footballer Kroy Biermann, reportedly owe $1.1 million in unpaid taxes. The couple allegedly owe the IRS taxes, interest, and penalties from the years 2013, 2017, and 2017, as well as $15,000 to the state of Georgia for 2018. News of their financial troubles comes in the midst of their reported divorce, which Kim announced earlier this month citing that their marriage was "irretrievably broken."
In court documents obtained by the outlet, Kim requested primary physical custody and joint legal custody of their six children, as well as spousal support and her maiden name to be legally restored. The couple, who tied the knot in 2011, has six children: KJ, Kash, Kaia, Kane, Brielle, and Ariana. Kroy adopted Kim's daughters from a previous relationship in 2013.
This isn't the first time the couple has faced financial turmoil, as their Alpharetta, Georgia mansion was facing foreclosure in 2022 after they failed to pay back a $300,000 loan taken out for the property. The home, which features a basketball court, elevator, waterfall, pool, and spa, was set to be sold at auction in March 2023 but was taken off the auction block for unknown reasons.
Despite their financial troubles, both Kim and Kroy's net worths stand at $500,000 each as of now.
