"Kim Zolciak Marks First Birthday Post-Divorce without Kroy Biermann"

Kim Zolciak-Biermann celebrated her birthday on May 19th, but her estranged husband Kroy Biermann was not invited to her festivities. A source shared with People that Kim was celebrating with all of her kids, and despite the absence of her longtime partner, she was in good spirits.

Kim and Kroy are currently living under the same roof but have been avoiding each other, according to a source who spoke with Us Weekly. The source added that their Alpharetta, Georgia mansion is a big house, which makes it easier to keep their distance.

The mother of six, who shares children with Kroy, including two daughters he previously adopted, did not let her divorce stop her from celebrating her big day. Her daughter, Ariana, posted a message on her Instagram Story sending birthday wishes to "her best friend."

Kroy filed for divorce after 11 years of marriage on May 5th, and Kim submitted her own paperwork for a contested divorce two days later. In his filing, Kroy asked for sole legal and physical custody of their four minor children, claiming they were currently in his care, and also requested child support from Kim. Kim, on the other hand, was seeking alimony, child support, and for her legal fees to be paid. Both of their filings were entered electronically into the court system on May 8th.

A source told Us Weekly that the couple has been struggling with financial troubles, which have been a strain on their relationship. The tax debt was reportedly the final blow to their marriage.
