Khloé Kardashian has revealed the name of her and Tristan Thompson’s newborn son, Tatum Thompson. In the season 3 premiere of Keeping up with the Kardashians, which aired on Hulu on May 25, Khloé shared the meaning behind the unique moniker. Tatum is of English origin and means “Tate’s homestead,” and is described as someone who is “strong, distinctive, energetic,” according to Nameberry.com. Khloé and NBA player Tristan welcomed their second child via surrogate on July 28, 2022. They also share their daughter True Thompson, who was born on April 12, 2018.

Despite their rocky past, which saw Khloé end things with Tristan after discovering he had cheated on her and fathered a child with Maralee Nichols, the reality star is feeling “so grateful” about her son’s arrival. Speaking in the season 2 premiere of the Kardashians on Hulu in September 2022, Khloé explained that her son’s birth marked the start of something positive, happy, and beautiful: “Now, I finally get to start the healing process. Now, I get to start enjoying my life with two kids in it and figuring this out.”

Although the pair had a tumultuous past, Khloé allowed Tristan to be present at the hospital for their baby boy’s birth. She admitted she kept the surrogate’s pregnancy under wraps as long as possible due to the timing of Tristan’s cheating scandal with Maralee. In June 2021, Maralee sued Tristan for paternity after conceiving their son in March 2021 while Thompson was still in a relationship with Kardashian.

Despite her reservations, Khloé is embracing motherhood wholeheartedly. She said, “It’s such a beautiful gift that we’re able to have. Ever since December, it’s been this dark cloud looming over me. Every single day, I’ve been feeling depressed and sad, and now that my son is here, I get to move on, and I get to enjoy. It’s almost like I get to close that chapter and be done with this trauma and put it behind me.”
