Kelly Clarkson wows in stunning ensemble at Christmas at the Opry performance, flaunting impressive weight loss
Pop star Kelly Clarkson once again wowed her audience with her performance and incredible weight loss at the NBC’s Christmas at the Opry special, which took place on Thursday, December 7.
Clarkson, aged 41, kicked off the show with a fantastic duet with country music icon Wynonna Judd. They sang “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”. Wynonna, at 59 years old, served as the host for the night. NBC had promised a night filled with a combination of “Christmas favorites, holiday classics, as well as today’s top hits.”
The musical event, which went on for two hours, also featured other performances from musical artists like Chrissy Metz, Adam Doleac, BRELAND, Brenda Lee, Chris Janson, Lauren Alaina, Meghan Patrick, Mickey Guyton, along with Mitchell Tenpenny and Trace Adkins.
A week prior, Clarkson made an appearance at the Grand Ole Opry soon after she had both hosted and performed at the live Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting ceremony on November 29. The “Stronger” singer was decked out in a stylish knee-length white coat with faux fur on the collar, hemline, and cuffs, complemented by a black shirt underneath and matching gloves. Her hoop earrings were visible and she looked very elegant, with her blonde hair tied up in a bun, and new bangs curtained across her forehead. Her vibrant red lipstick added the perfect festive touch.
Clarkson’s fashion style together with her weight loss has been the talk of the town. As a mother of two - a daughter, River Rose (9), and a son, Remington Alexander (7) - she's been on a health journey since 2006 following a diagnosis for an autoimmune disorder and a thyroid issue. After years of medication and varying weight, she stopped and made lifestyle changes.
Dr. Steven Gundry’s book, The Plant Paradox, explains about a “lectin-free” diet. Clarkson admitted in 2018 that the book played a crucial role in regulating her hormone levels, resulting in a loss of 37 pounds.
Clarkson told Extra, "I’m not on medicine anymore because of this book."
It appears that post her divorce from Brandon Blackstock in March 2022, Clarkson has lost even more weight. Speculations are rife among fans that she might be on Ozempic, which is a type 2 diabetes drug often prescribed off-label for weight loss. However, a reliable source clarified to Life & Style in October that it was not the case.
“She’s restricted her intake of sugar and carbs. She no longer consumes soda, chips, biscuits, cheese, or tortillas, and she includes cardio in her weekly routine. She’s lost approximately 40 pounds and is feeling amazing,” the source informed.
Although quiet about her recent weight loss, Clarkson did address it during the November 7 episode of her talk show. In a conversation with guests Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush about finding suitable clothing after losing weight, she remarked, "I love losing weight. But finding jeans are hard. Jeans are challenging when you have a butt and a smaller waist.”
Clarkson added, “I realize this is a first-world problem, and it’s a fantastic problem to have.”
