Kelly Clarkson has shared that following her considerable weight loss, she no longer needs to wear Spanx. She mentioned this during a singing game on the December 8 episode of her daytime talk show.

During “Christmas Carol Finish the Lyric” with vocal director Jessi Collins, the 41-year-old singer commented on the chilly conditions of her Rockefeller Center studio, “In this building it’s so cold. I don’t even need to wear Spanx anymore. I just wear them for warmth like thermals," referring to her formerly necessary shapewear.

She added cheerfully, “Let’s just give a high-five. I don’t have to wear Spanx anymore if I don’t want to. Whatever. Life is good.”

During the same segment, Kelly sported black pleather pants that highlighted her newly slim waistline. She styled them with a white blouse and black necktie.

The singer, a Texas native, has discussed her weight loss openly, but has not disclosed the specifics of how she managed to lose the weight over the summer. Fans have speculated that she may have used the weight loss medication Ozempic.

On a November 9 Instagram post featuring Kelly apparently eating ice cream, followers commented on her visibly slimmer figure. One wrote, “Kelly is very upfront about not exercising, it’s Ozempic,” while another suggested, “Ozempic looks good on you!” Another follower observed her rapid weight loss, posting, “She looks great, but it seems like she lost a lot of weight in like two weeks!”

Kelly first stirred up attention regarding her new figure when she performed on NBC’s Today on September 22 in a black jacket and glittery leggings. The next day in Las Vegas, Kelly performed at the iHeartRadio Festival in a sleek black blazer paired with black lace leggings and thigh-high boots.

In her fifth season of The Kelly Clarkson Show, she has displayed her reducing silhouette through a variety of fashion choices. Despite fan requests for her weight loss secrets, Kelly only openly acknowledged her body transformation during the November 7 episode of her show, while conversing with guests Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Bush.

The sisters showed an old photo and remarked they were "chubby" as kids. Kelly empathized, stating she had also experienced “many stages” of being “chubby." Confessing her new dilemma of finding jeans that fit her slimmed-down figure, she commented, “I don’t fit into mine! I love losing weight. But jeans are so hard. I feel like jeans are so hard when you have a butt and like, a smaller waist,” She added, “This is a first-world problem, I realize. And it’s a great problem,” in reference to her thinner frame.
