Speculation has been raised that Travis Kelce provided Taylor Swift a piece of jewelry for her birthday - not an engagement ring, but rather an opal ring she wore during her December 13 birthday celebration. The theory is encouraged by Swift's friend, Keleigh Sperry, who notably approved of a fan's TikTok video discussing the theory on December 16.

Sperry, 31, interacted with the theory-laden video, which focused on identifying the gems represented in the strikingly large ring, displayed prominently on Swift's right middle finger. The speculated design included a sizable opal surrounded by smaller blue topaz stones.

The birthstones linked to December and October, blue topaz and opal respectively, fueled these speculations — as they coincide with Swift and Kelce's birth months. Swift seemed keen to showcase the gemstone accessory in her party photos, even allowing Sperry and her partner, Miles Teller, to take a closer look.

The TikTok user mused over how Swift brought attention to the stunning piece of jewelry, possibly indicative of a present from an admirer. Kelce, 34, was however notably absent from Swift's birthday party due to his requirements with the Chiefs in Kansas City. The rumored couple did have an early celebration at a December 10 holiday party in Kansas City, where Swift was spotted wearing an additional personal gift - a friendship bracelet with 'Trav' spelt out in beads.

Swift joined her six-month boyfriend over the weekend, attending the Chiefs versus New England Patriots match on December 17 alongside her father, Scott Swift. This engagement had the 71-year-old meet Kelce for the first time at Swift's Eras tour stop in Argentina on November 11. A source revealed their great camaraderie, with Kelce even seeking Scott's blessing to take his relationship with Swift forward, with the anticipation of a Christmas-time engagement.

The couple has been together since July, after Kelce attended one of Swift's tour stops in Kansas City. Kelce expressed on his "New Heights" podcast with Jason Kelce his intention to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it. Swift, in her 'Person of the Year' interview with TIME on December 6, revealed her admiration for this gesture and subsequently initiated contact with Kelce. Their relationship became public on September 24, during the Chiefs game against Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.
