Kate Middleton Takes Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis to a TV Show Set | Vanity Fair

On Saturday, the two youngest children of Kate Middleton were seen having a royally exciting time on the set of the reality dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing. Kate, who is well-known for her love of the show, which led to the creation of Dancing with the Stars, also seemed to be having a great time.

The two-hour visit with their mother was greatly enjoyed by Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. As reported by The Sun, they had the opportunity to meet with Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, the hosts of the show. They also visited the costume department, where Louis at the age of 5, apparently tried on a little golden crown. The two children, Charlotte, who is 8, and Louis had the opportunity to watch a dance by pros Katya Jones and Neil Jones. They then used the infamous scoring paddles of the show to rate the dance.

According to an anonymous source that provided information to The Sun, both "Kate and Charlotte are major fans of Strictly and were really happy to be invited."

“Kate was taking photos of the kids in the judges’ seats while appearing to be at ease and very joyful,” the source said. ‘She showed warmth towards everyone and kept Louis from becoming too ecstatic."

The presence of the royal family members resulted in enhanced security on the set of the BBC’s Elstree Studios, located just outside of London.

'The set was subjected to an intense security lockdown and staff members were ordered to not take any photos,” added the informant. “The children were particularly thrilled and dressed up for the occasion. They were overjoyed about being on set and meeting their favorite stars.”

Kate has been recognized as a "big fan" of Strictly for quite some time. Even her husband, Prince William mentioned it during a charity event in 2019. In 2020, she sent a video message for the finale of the show's season, where she acknowledged the efforts of the cast and crew during the pandemic. "You've lifted the spirits of the entire country,” she commented.

Known for her dancing skills, a compilation of Kate's dance moves from the "Princess Shuffle" and a duet performance with Paddington Bear, has been making the rounds on social media.
