Hailee Steinfeld almost picked the wrong team, but her husband Josh Allen isn’t holding it against her.

A little over a month after the couple announced they’re expecting their first baby together, a throwback photo of the Sinners actress cheering for the Denver Broncos during the 2016 Super Bowl started making the rounds online. And while Josh and the Buffalo Bills are set to face the Broncos in an NFL playoff game on Jan. 17, the quarterback couldn’t be bothered by his wife’s past allegiance.

“I had no idea it was floating around,” Allen told CBS Sports’ Tracy Wolfson. According to Tracy, he laughed off the discovery and speculated that Hailee “was probably paid” to be at the game, which saw the Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers. He reassured fans he “definitely wasn’t going to bring it up at home.”

Football fans couldn’t resist teasing the couple over the rivalry. “She rooting for her Broncos in her heart, but she repping Bills for her Hubby,” tweeted one user. Another wrote, “HAILEE DELETE THIS NOW!!!” while a third added, “Ayeeee yooooo this is a crazy find!!! 😂😂”

For her part, Hailee officially backed Buffalo nearly three years ago, debuting a Bills jersey at one of Josh’s games in 2023. The actress has long expressed pride in her husband’s career. “To say the least, I am so proud of that man,” she told E! News last January. “Everything he’s done and everything that the team has done together, he is the hardest working person I know.”

After quietly tying the knot in May 2025 in Santa Barbara, Calif., Hailee shared how she tries to structure her schedule to support Josh on the field. “I try to organize my time so I can be where he is,” she explained to Variety in October. “This time of year, I get to hunker down, slow down, support him and live life.”

Being a football WAG has also taught her to slow down and enjoy life with her partner. “I’ve gotten a lot better at understanding what it means to slow down and to share that with someone,” she said. “That’s the greatest thing ever.”

The couple, who first sparked romance rumors in May 2023 and went Instagram official in July 2024, announced in December that they are expecting their first child. Hailee shared the news in her Beau Society newsletter and posted a simple red-heart Instagram clip.

Steinfeld recently showcased her baby bump on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, glammed up in chic maternity style. Allen, who missed the event due to a critical playoff game, hyped her up online, reposting her photo with the emojis “🤤😍.”
