Jensen Ackles has confirmed that despite fans' efforts to bring back Supernatural spinoff The Winchesters for season 2, the show is officially over.

The actor took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the fans, as well as those who worked on the show. "But as they say...timing is everything," he added. The CW had canceled The Winchesters after just one season in May due to network changes aimed at increasing profitability, as well as the writer's strike, which added to the difficulties the spinoff faced.

Although the original series Supernatural ran for 15 seasons, The Winchesters focused on the parents of Dean and Sam Winchester in the 1970s. The show starred Drake Rodger, Meg Donnelly, and Jojo Fleites, who addressed the show's status at a convention in Chicago, echoing Ackles's statement.

While Rodger admitted they had exhausted all options for a second season, he expressed gratitude for the massive outpouring of support the show had received from fans. Khurshid, who also starred in The Winchesters, thanked fans for their love and support and the opportunity to play Latika Dar.
