Rumors of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck rekindling their romance have been swirling for weeks, but a source exclusively tells Life & Style that the 13 Going on 30 actress is doing her best to reassure her boyfriend, John Miller, that there’s nothing to worry about.

“Jen did feel badly about it and totally understood his reaction, but she reassured him that it was nothing,” the insider reveals after Ben, 52, and Jen’s reunion. “Of course he believed her, and no, he didn’t give Jen an ultimatum or tell her how to interact with her ex.”

The source continues, “John’s got an ex too, he knows how these things can get misconstrued. It’s the price you pay for dating a movie star. Bottom line, John and Jen are just fine. They’re together and happy.”

Jen, 52, and Ben were spotted together at their son Samuel Affleck’s 13th birthday party on March 2, and it didn’t take long before whispers began once again about the couple possibly reuniting. The Juno star and Ben enjoyed a day of playing paintball with the family, but one photo featured the Good Will Hunting actor with his hands resting on Jen’s hips as she lined up a target.

This hasn’t been the first time the two have sparked rumors of getting back together, and Ben’s divorce from ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, which was finalized in January, put those whispers into overdrive. However, a source previously told Life & Style that John isn’t worried at all.

“John has shown incredible patience and that has really endeared him to Jennifer,” the insider said in September 2024. “Privately, he has been known to find it a little bit intimidating that she’s still so close to Ben, especially when he’s reminded about their red-hot connection back in the day. Her comment about the camera crew needing a wide lens for Ben’s naked shower scene in Gone Girl has come back to haunt Jen because it really bugs John to know that.”

The source continued, “But he doesn’t dwell on it, he understands she had a past before him and that there is still a place for Ben in her life. He’s very clear he’s not looking to force Ben out of Jen’s life, but the 24/7 nature of their relationship is just becoming way too much. Jen has assured John and everyone else that she’s still all in, but you can’t blame the guy for wanting some actions to back up her words.”

Jen and John first began dating in 2018, and the couple didn’t rush into anything. Instead, they took things slow and they dated for six months before it was confirmed they were together.

“Jen brings out the best in John, and he is the happiest he has probably ever been,” a source told Us Weekly in October 2018. “It’s a loving, healthy relationship.”

Two years after they began dating, their relationship hit a rough patch, and the pair split shortly after Los Angeles went into lockdowns due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The breakup didn’t last and by May 2021, they were back together.

In February 2025, a source spilled to Life & Style that The Kingdom star and John “considered themselves informally engaged.”
