Jeezy has accused his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jeannie Mai, of denying him access to their daughter, Monaco, during their ongoing tumultuous divorce proceedings.

The rapper behind “All There”, 46, appealed for a temporary custody hearing for 22-month-old Monaco, as seen in court papers that came to light on Thursday, November 30.

Jeezy, whose off-stage name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, disclosed that since he initiated divorce proceedings on September 14, young Monaco has been living with Jeannie, 44, in their former shared home in Los Angeles.

According to the documents, “efforts to resolve temporary custody arrangements on an informal basis have been made since that time. Although a visitation plan up to the end of 2023 has been established through conversations with their attorneys, dealing with custodial and parenting time disputes informally is becoming increasingly impractical."

The “Leave You Alone” musician continued to state that the irregularities and instability linked with this unsettled and variable parenting timetable have begun to cause stress for Monaco.

Jeezy further claimed that the existing custody terms have led to “unwarranted tension and perplexity” regarding their individual parental commitments and exclusive rights when looking after their daughter separately.

Despite not considering Jeannie's behaviour as being “vindictive”, Jeezy asserts that The Real's former host has been controlling in terms of access to Monaco.

The legal papers indicate that “[Jeannie’s] obstruction of [Jeezy’s] bond with the child, though unjustified, is causing tension and misunderstanding among the couple and is hampering the nurturing of the Petitioner’s relationship with the child”.

The documents then propose that it is “essential to disentangle, establish and unequivocally outline the temporary shared and individual legal & physical custody rights of the parties and set a parenting timetable that is principally favourable for the child.”

Jeezy submitted the custody petition a little over two months after he commenced divorce proceedings in September. Breaking his silence a month after filing, he revealed to TMZ in October the reasons for ending his marriage.

A heavy-hearted Jeezy explained, “The choice to conclude this chapter of my life was not impulsive. My deep affection and respect for Jeannie remains, and our time together reserves a special spot in my heart."

Jeezy, originally from South Carolina, added, “Our wonderful daughter is a precious blessing from our relationship, and I am dedicated to making sure she receives the love and stability she deserves."

In contrast, Jeannie opened up about their separation during her appearance on the Sherri Shepherd’s talk show episode aired on October 12.

Jeannie confessed, “honestly, it takes every day, to just sit quietly within my truest thoughts … to look after me,” further stating that she has handed over “her sorrow to God”.

Jeezy and Jeannie first met when he guest-starred on The Real in 2018. They publicly declared their relationship in 2019, tied the knot in March 2021, and in January 2022, they welcomed their first child together.
