Theresa Nist Shocked by Gerry Turner's Preparation for 'The Golden Bachelor'

During the first season of The Golden Bachelor, Theresa Nist not only ended up with Gerry Turner's final rose but also a Neil Lane-designed engagement ring. However, she confessed to being "horrified" by some aspects of the show others are not privy to.

The 70-year-old season 1 winner revealed during a Q&A panel in NYC on Monday, December 11, that her future husband, aged 72, “prepared” her about certain aspects of the show. Despite his efforts, there were still some unidentified aspects that Gerry could not ready her for.

Despite the undue surprises, Theresa was glad to learn to take a step back as the journey unfolded. She was focused on Gerry finding the right person, and only wished it to be her if that's the ideal situation, she revealed.

After their engagement was aired on November 30, the reality TV couple has been steady on course for their forthcoming nuptials. The audience learned that same day that they could witness the wedding live on the televised event on January 4, 2024.

However, the note before the show's finale was a sour one for Theresa and Gerry. This was due to an exposé by Gerry's ex-girlfriend regarding the end of their relationship. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gerry began his romance with this woman, Carolyn, shortly after the death of his late wife, Toni, in 2017. Carolyn moved into Gerry's dream retirement home on the lakeside ten months later before they went their separate ways in October 2019.

Gerry's image suffered from his ex's allegations that he dumped her for gaining weight. Still, Theresa did not let that scuttle their engagement plans.

A source confided to Life & Style in early December that the revelation raised suspicions among family members, questioning what else Gerry could potentially be covering up. "But he and Theresa have spoken about it and she trusts him and they have moved past it," added the source. Adding that Theresa recognizes it's just a show and everyone has a past, the source confirmed that the couple is happy.

As the wedding bells draw nearer, the couple decided to make their relationship official on Instagram. Gerry captioned his unveiling post, featuring their first selfie together, with "FINALLY!!!....Theresa and I can be out in public. Not being able to post til now has been agonizing."
