Singer Halsey Seeks Joint Custody of Son Following Split with Boyfriend Alev Aydin After Nearly 3 Years
Singer Halsey has split from their boyfriend of almost three years, Alev Aydin, as confirmed by legal documents obtained by Life & Style. The split was amicable, with the couple planning to co-parent their son Ender, who was born on July 14, 2021. Halsey has filed for joint physical custody, with the couple sharing joint expenses. The split was described as a formality due to Halsey's upcoming tour. The couple first met in 2018 when Aydin was hired to write a screenplay, and made their first public appearance together in January 2019. They announced their pregnancy in January 2021.
Halsey shared a Valentine's Day post in 2023 featuring Aydin, but has since posted photos of Ender without him. On Ender's first birthday, both parents shared loving tributes to their son.
"Ya'aburnee," the title of Halsey's 13th track from their 2021 album If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, which means "you bury me" in Arabic, was used to caption the Valentine's Day post.
