Publicly rejecting the critics and rumors comes after Gwen's marriage to the country singer was under the scrutinizing spotlight. The separation of the couple on New Year's Eve seemed to hint at a problem when Blake was performing a New Year’s Eve Live show: Nashville’s Big Bash on CBS, and Gwen was in a Las Vegas performance. 

She mentioned her decision on their separate plans, “It's funny because I intended to be at his show, and then Vegas called, and I thought, ‘Well, I'll do it. If you’re working, then I’ll also work.”

Following their unconventional New Year's celebration, a source disclosed to Life & Style that Blake was “disappointed” and “quite upset” about Gwen deciding to take on a Sin City gig instead of being in the audience for his show. 

“Gwen and Blake's marriage is certainly in peril,” the insider said. “Off late, they've been clashing over everything from career choices and the raising of her three boys to where they spend most of their time. The tension is escalating, and Blake and Gwen are gradually drifting apart.”

A few weeks later, Gwen and Blake made significant career announcements, with her reuniting with No Doubt and him embarking on a month-long tour. Neither publicly acknowledged the other's news.
