Karen Gillan and Husband Nick Kocher Undergo Couples Therapy in Full Nebula Makeup: See the Picture

Karen Gillan was fully committed to her role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, even when it meant forgetting an important therapy appointment. The 35-year-old actress, who plays Nebula in the film, tweeted a screenshot on May 3, saying, "In honor of Guardians of the Galaxy in theaters Friday, here's a screenshot of the time I forgot I had scheduled a COUPLES THERAPY session on a day we were shooting."

Gillan was joined by an impressive cast including Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Sean Gunn, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, and Pom Klementieff. Volume 3 of James Gunn’s superhero trilogy premieres on May 5th. In this final installment, the gang is still coping with the loss of Gamora (Saldana) while trying to protect one of their own and defend the universe.

Gillan's role as Nebula involved a grueling four-hour process to get into costume, including prosthetics and black contact lenses. "The prosthetics are tough," Gillan told the Daily Record in April 2019. "Especially when there's action that needs to be done. The worst part is that your sweat has nowhere to go under all that makeup and the costume, so sometimes, when they take it off, the sweat literally squirts out on people. I guess that makes it worse for them than it is for me, but it's pretty embarrassing."

Despite her busy schedule, Gillan has also been busy in her personal life. In May 2022, she secretly tied the knot with Nick Kocher. She shared a series of images on Instagram in February, including her in a wedding gown, bagpipe players, and her bridesmaids, with the caption "Last May . . . "

The wedding took place at Castle Toward in Scotland, and wedding planner Sarah Haywood shared her own photo of Gillan laughing before the nuptials, writing, "What an adventure! The Scottish wedding of the gorgeous, insanely talented and fun @karengillan and her hilarious husband."
