Gleb Savchenko Explains His Decision to End Relationship with Brooks Nader via Text: 'Writing It Down is Better'
Ouch! Dancing With the Stars pro Gleb Savchenko broke up with Brooks Nader over text and defended his reasons for choosing that route to end things.
“There’s a lot of things,” Gleb, 41, said in an interview with Too Fab published on Tuesday, November 12. “Sometimes you can be mixed up in a conversation. So I always like to write everything down. When I wrote that down, it felt like it was perfect, because the moment you start a conversation, you might get lost, so it’s better to just write it down.”
Gleb also added that he and Brooks, 28, “haven’t spoken” since their split in October.
“I really actually do miss her because she’s the vibe. She’s a really cool person. And I had the best time,” the Russian native continued. “When you asked me if I had the best time on the season, absolutely. This is one of my best seasons. Brooks is super talented and we had a lot of fun. Life happens, and I do miss her a lot.”
The Sports Illustrated model and Gleb were partnered up for Dancing With the Stars season 33. It wasn’t long until rumors that the two had a romantic connection began swirling. A source told Life & Style that Brooks and Gleb were spotted making out shortly before they took the floor during week two of DWTS.
“Brooks also had her arm around Gleb,” the insider said. “He looked very comfortable with her that way. They look like they are definitely a thing. It’s very clear something is going on with them.”
On September 27, Extra asked Brooks about the kiss, but she played coy with her answer.
“Who wouldn’t want to make out with Gleb?” Brooks told the outlet.
However, despite their steamy makeout session, she maintained that she wasn’t dating anyone.
“Everything that you see, like, online and on TikTok or whatever is real, there’s nothing fake about it. I’m not a fake girl. We’re a dance couple for now. We’re not in a relationship. I have so many mixed feelings about it. I’m newly single, so we’re having a really nice time,” she added.
Gleb didn’t do much to hide his admiration for his dance partner and after they were eliminated from the competition on October 15, he took a minute to praise Brooks.
“I want to thank you for an amazing season, it was so unexpected. I had a blast working with you,” Gleb gushed while talking to Brooks.
A couple of weeks later, Brooks shared a TikTok video on October 24 that had fans wondering if the former dance partners had pulled the plug on their brief relationship when she used the viral sound of Miles Teller’s monologue in Whiplash.
“I don’t think we should be together,” Miles, 37, said in the sound that played over a video of Brooks looking confused. “I’ve thought about it a lot, and this is what’s going to happen. I’m going to keep pursuing what I’m pursuing and because of that it’s going to take up more and more of my time and I’m not going to be able to spend as much time with you.”
The following day, Us Weekly reported that Gleb and Brooks had gone their separate ways.
“Gleb ended things, but Brooks is continuing to live her best life,” a source told the publication.
The exes will likely have to reunite at the Dancing With the Stars finale later this month.
