Andy Cohen Gives Exclusive Insight into the Unexpected Breakup of RHOBH's Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky

In an exclusive video interview with Life & Style, Andy Cohen revealed his thoughts on the surprising split between Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky.

"This season, I’ve been really captivated by Kyle’s development," says Andy, 55, while discussing his collaboration with Walmart+'s "Save Your Resolutions" initiative. "She’s been on our screens for a long time and was always seen as someone who had a solid marriage. So it's quite unexpected to see her marital troubles."

Andy confesses that observing the divorce process of Kyle, 54, and Mauricio has been "extraordinarily captivating".

"I greatly admire her honesty and willingness to be open," continues Andy, the RHOBH executive producer. "She's consistently been open on the show, but what we're seeing now is a woman truly in the midst of a self-discovery journey, and it’s highly engaging."

Andy concedes that their divorce was one of the most "unexpected" events in his 20 years with Bravo.

In July 2023, it was disclosed that Kyle and Mauricio, 53, were facing marital problems. News leaked that they had separated after being married for 27 years. The reality stars broke the news of their separation through a jointly shared statement on social media.

"We have experienced a challenging year," the ex-couple - married in 1996 - stated at the time. "It has been the toughest one of our marriage. We both retain immense love and respect for each other. There are no allegations of misconduct from either party. We ask for privacy to manage our challenges, despite being in the limelight."

Both Kyle and Mauricio, while not pursuing a divorce, have been rumored to be seeing new potential partners since announcing their separation.

Speculations arose about Kyle, the Halloween Ends actress, dating her close friend, Morgan Wade. Both women have denied these rumors. After news of their close friendship leaked, Kyle and Morgan, 29, chose to make light of the rumors when Kyle was cast in Morgan’s music video “Fall in Love With Me” released in August 2023.

Kyle fuelled more speculation by stating she was open to "dating a woman" in a teaser for season 13, now airing on Bravo.

In contrast, Mauricio has reportedly been linked with his Dancing With the Stars partner Emma Slater and Brazilian singer Anitta.

Andy shared not only his fascination with Kyle and Mauricio's challenges but also his enthusiasm about partnering with Walmart+'s "Save Your Resolutions" campaign while talking to Life & Style.

“The second week of January is 'National Quitter’s Day' when people tend to abandon their resolutions. Through this campaign with Walmart, the idea is to keep those resolutions. Walmart+ can assist with that,” he explains. "It’s essentially the ultimate savings membership. It benefits you by saving both time and money in numerous ways."
