Ed Kelce Announces Passing of Longtime Girlfriend Maureen Maguire in a Facebook Post

On Saturday, August 2, Ed Kelce, father of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, took to Facebook to share some personal news.

According to Ed Kelce, his longtime girlfriend, Maureen Anne Maguire, has died. Ed shared Maguire’s obituary on his Facebook page.

Maguire was 74 years old at the time of her death.

According to the obituary, Maguire “passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.” She was an elementary school teacher, remembered for “brining compassion and creativity to her students.”

Maguire, who was a mom of three, was also described as a “devoted mother whose greatest pride was her children,” who grew to appreciate football.

“She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life,” the obituary revealed, “sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch. Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.”

“Maureen was known for her impeccable taste and signature style—wearing tennis skirts religiously despite never playing the game. A natural hostess, she was famous for throwing the best parties, always full of warmth, laughter, and unforgettable food. She had a rare gift for making friends with strangers and making everyone around her feel special, seen, and welcomed. Her presence had a way of turning ordinary moments into something memorable,” the obituary continued.

“Her kindness, wit, and gentle strength left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.”

Despite sharing the news on Facebook, Ed didn’t share a personal statement on the matter.

In a 2024 conversation with the LA Times, Ed talked about bringing his girlfriend, Maureen, with him to watch Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs at the Super Bowl in a rematch against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The LA Times reported that Maguire “has enjoyed getting to know (Taylor) Swift and had a lighthearted interaction with her shortly after meeting her.”

While posing for a picture with Ed, Swift, who is dating Travis, “nuzzled up to him.”

“Hey, that’s my boyfriend,” Maguire joked with Swift, who laughed, according to the LA Times.
