Where Are They Now? 'Drake and Josh' Actors
The Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh premiered back in January 2004, catapulting The Amanda Show alums Drake Bell and Josh Peck to mainstream teen stardom and introducing audiences around the world to Miranda Cosgrove.
At the 2022 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, Peck spoke about his relationship with Cosgrove, stating that he met her when she was just nine years old auditioning to play his little sister, while he was already 14 at the time. These days, Peck sees Cosgrove as a fully grown human who's doing great, and says he feels like her older brother, remaining protective of her as ever.
However, Peck's friendship with Bell hasn't remained as close as it was when they worked on Drake & Josh. Ten years after the show ended in 2007, Bell tweeted that he felt hurt for not being invited to Peck's June 2017 wedding to Paige O'Brien. "True colors have come out today," he wrote, adding "Message is loud and clear. Ties are officially cut. I'll miss you brother." Despite this, the two actors buried the hatchet later that same year and shared a photo of themselves embracing at the MTV VMAs in August.
Years later, in March 2022, Bell and his wife Janet Von Schmeling talked about a Drake & Josh reboot script allegedly written by Peck on an episode of their podcast, "Drake & Janet." According to Von Schmeling, the script was poorly written with Drake playing the role of a failed musician while Peck portrays a real estate agent. Bell wasn't happy with the script and asked Peck to change it, but Peck allegedly was unable to comply.
