The Oscars appear to be gearing up for some long-overdue Kenergy, according to a report by Daily Mail. The report states that Ryan Gosling, who has received an Oscar nomination, will perform “I’m Just Ken,” an Oscar-nominated song, at the forthcoming ceremony.

Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt wrote “I’m Just Ken,” which is one of two songs from Barbie to receive Oscar nominations. The other song is “What Was I Made For?”, Billie Eilish’s award-winning single. Joining them in the category are Jon Batiste’s “It Never Went Away” from American Symphony; "Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)" from Killers of the Flower Moon; and “The Fire Inside” from Flamin’ Hot, a song by honorary Oscar recipient Diane Warren.

During the award season, Gosling remained non-committal about his possibility of performing on the Oscar stage. He commented earlier in the month, “It might be too much of a risk to have me do it,” stating his uncertainty at how it would pan out, although he mentioned he was open to the idea.

With this, Gosling joins a distinguished list of actors who boldly performed their Oscar-nominated songs live during the Oscars. Among this list is Amy Adams, who performed a song from Enchanted at the 2008 ceremony, and Gabriel García Bernal, who performed a portion of the Oscar-winning emotional song “Remember Me” from Coco in 2018.

ABC will telecast the Oscars on March 10, beginning at 4 p.m. PT. Jimmy Kimmel is set to return as the host. Let’s hope Gosling’s performance adds that much-needed Kenough to the event.
