David Beckham Teases Wife Victoria for "Dramatic" Behavior as She Lays on the Floor Following a Workout
David Beckham, the former footballer, appears to never miss a chance to playfully tease his wife, Victoria Beckham, as demonstrated after a recent joint workout session.
The 48-year-old sports personality used his Instagram platform on Monday, November 6 to post a series of images of Victoria, 49, relaxing post-workout in her monochrome gym outfit. The former Spice Girls member seemed thoroughly worn out, stretched out next to the treadmill.
In one of the photos, David humorously wrote, “My wife may or may not be a little dramatic, but this happened this morning.” He used a rolling-eyes emoji and a rotating “I want a nap” GIF, also tagging performance coach Bobby Rich. Another photo revealed Victoria still on the floor, appearing done with her husband's jestful antics.
In retaliation, the fashion designer shared her own image of David, lying belly down on a yoga mat, captioning it with “And the Oscar goes to...”.
This is not the first instance in recent history where David lightheartedly criticized his wife in public. He gained considerable attention in early October due to an episode from his Netflix docuseries, Beckham. In this episode, he corrected Victoria when she tried to describe her background as “very, very working class”. In response, he asked her about the car her father used to drive her to school, to which Victoria eventually answered, "OK, in the '80s, my dad had a Rolls Royce.”
David's fans applauded this exchange on various social media platforms. One of them commented, “Omg I just fell in love with David Beckham. Victoria Beckham trying to obscure the fact her father owned a Rolls Royce and she attended a costly school, portraying herself as 'working class'. What a fibber.”
There was also a significant debate around whether Victoria truly belonged to a “working class” background. Her father, Anthony William Adams, was an electronics engineer, while her mother, Jacqueline Doreen Adams (nee Cannon), split her time between working as a hairdresser and an insurance clerk. Their electronics wholesale business allowed the family to lead a comfortable life. Victoria, now a mother of four children, went to private schools and lived in an opulent house in Goffs Oak, England. She talked about her childhood home in a 2017 interview with British Vogue, revealing her parents purchased it as a shell to renovate.
According to Victoria, “My father worked incredibly hard to afford us a nice home, which is why my mum didn’t allow us to hang posters. Likewise, I don’t let my kids hang posters. My parents always told me anything is possible if you put your mind to it, not accepting any excuses to the contrary. I have tried to instill this same philosophy in my children.”
