The Critics Choice Awards 2024 will be a grand affair full of movie and TV industry heavyweights such as actors, directors, editors, and writers. These individuals are distinguished by the Critics Choice Association, the country's most significant critics group. Although the event may bear resemblance to the Golden Globes, it sets itself apart with its unique categories like 'best young actor/actress', which aim to highlight emerging stars in Hollywood. Abby Ryder Fortson, Ariana Greenblatt, Calah Lane, Milo Machado Graner, Dominic Sessa, and Madeleine Yuna Voyles are all contenders for this sought-after award this year. The first stop for nominees before the ceremony commences at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport on Sunday is the 2024 Critics Choice Awards red carpet, where they can flaunt their fashionable attire in front of press, photographers, and fans.
The Critics Choice Awards 2024, which will be hosted by Chelsea Handler and aired on the CW, has Barbie leading the way with an impressive 18 nominations. Following closely are Oppenheimer and Poor Things with 13 nominations each. Stiff competition is expected in the best-picture category with entries like American Fiction, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, Oprah Winfrey's Color Purple, The Holdovers, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, Greta Lee's Past Lives, Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things, and Emerald Fennell's Saltburn. It will be equally thrilling to see who comes out on top in the television category, with The Morning Show and Succession vying for the best drama series award.
