The renowned vocalist, Celine Dion, is struggling with muscle control due to her ongoing battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome (SPS), shared her sister Claudette Dion to 7 Jours on Monday, December 18.

“It’s agonizing for me to see that, Celine, who has always been diligent,” Claudette expressed regarding Celine, 55, who made public her diagnosis in December 2022 and subsequently called off her Courage World Tour scheduled for 2023 and 2024 due to intense muscle spasms. “She has always shown commitment. Our mother always advised her, 'You must do it right. You must do it well.'”

Claudette went on to say, “It's indeed our collective wish, including hers, to return to the stage. In what manner? I’m unsure.”

Although it’s still uncertain when the admired singer received her devastating diagnosis, Celine has been frank about her trials with SPS, notifying fans in an Instagram video that she is resolved to combat her condition.

“While we’re still gathering knowledge of this unusual disorder, it's now evident that this is the root cause of all my spasms,” declared the Titanic star in December of the previous year. “Sadly, these spasms interfere with every facet of my daily routine, occasionally triggering complications while walking and preventing me from using my vocal cords to sing as I traditionally can.”

“I’m committed to working intensively with my sports medicine therapist daily to regain my strength and my performing capabilities, yet I must confess it’s been challenging,” Celine admitted, stating that she had moved her tour dates well into spring of 2024 to account for her recovery period. “All I understand is singing. It’s my lifelong passion and what I love to do the most. I miss you all so much. I miss being on stage, performing for you all. I always give my all during my shows, but currently, my condition is preventing me from doing that.”

Although the “My Heart Will Go On” singer appeared to have stepped back from the limelight, fans were thrilled to spot Celine at the Montreal Canadiens vs. Vegas Golden Knights hockey match hosted in Las Vegas in October 2023. A reliable source revealed to Life & Style during her warmly received appearance, “Celine is ready to stop hiding. She's endured hell through her stiff-person diagnosis and the preceding years of perplexity and terror, trying to determine her condition. It’s been a lengthy, complex journey. But with the support of her family and various doctors and therapists, she seems to finally have things under control.”

For fans of Celine, this recent development reported by Claudette is distressing, as fans have been supporting her throughout her tough health journey.
