Carrie Underwood expressed her excitement on social media as she announced the extension of her Las Vegas residency. "Great news for 2024! I'm thrilled to announce that Reflection will persist at Resorts World Theatre into the following year. We're overjoyed at performing this show for audiences from all corners of the globe," shared Underwood, 40, known for her hit song "The Champion".

This came as joyous news to her avid fans, especially those who haven’t had a chance to experience the performance or are eager to re-live it again. However, there was one person significantly less enamored with the news: Carrie’s husband, Mike Fisher.

An inside source has confirmed, “Mike isn't pleased about Carrie's residency extension.". When the retired hockey player's wife is entertaining on the Sin City stage, he is often seen taking care of their two sons, Isaiah, 8, and Jacob, 4, back at their home in Tennessee. The insider added, "Mike is a traditional man and loves that Carrie has her career, but he's of the mindset that her responsibilities as a wife and mother should be at the forefront. He simply wishes for Carrie to return home”.

Domestic life has somewhat taken a backseat for Carrie lately. Her residency, which has a capacity of 5,000, commenced as far back as December 2021. The finale was originally slated for December. However, additional shows are now on the lineup from March till August. For Mike, 43, it remains uncertain if more dates will be added to her booming career.

Carrie’s Reflection residency hasn't been the only commitment keeping her away. The mother of two also embarked upon a 43-city tour called The Denim & Rhinestones, and shared the stage with Guns N' Roses. "Before committing to additional dates for her residency, Carrie did have a discussion with Mike, leading to a head-on disagreement. The extension of her stay in Las Vegas was not what he was anticipating," shared the source.

Despite having a net worth of $140 million, finances cannot be used as an excuse for her absence. Being away from her husband and sons in Nevada, she's expressed her longing for her family and even disclosed to her Instagram followers that she would "do anything to hold them.” The insider added, “Though Carrie cherishes her family, she also appreciates the solitude. She has made new friends and discovered an entirely different life in Las Vegas."

However, her frequent absences are not creating fondness in Mike's heart. As the insider highlighted, “He wasn’t anticipating being the sole caregiver and is frustrated by her absence at family gatherings. This has definitely created a hurdle. Despite this, they are bound to overcome it."
