"Steve Burns of Blue's Clues Launches New Podcast 'Alive'"

Calling all Blue’s Clues fans! Steve Burns, the beloved original host of the iconic Nickelodeon series, just revealed on his YouTube channel that he’s launching a brand-new podcast called Alive that’s officially premiering on September 17th, 2025.
The show is designed specifically for the generation of adults who grew up watching him solve mysteries with his pal Blue, a notebook and a paw print clue.
This exciting announcement comes after his TikTok videos went viral in 2021 during the pandemic.
In an interview with People Magazine, he spoke about the video saying, “I had that viral video during the pandemic [and] I guess since then, I had been kind of thinking I should do something with this access that I did not know I still had with this generation that I have. It seems that there was an opportunity to just continue the conversation, to simply scale it up for adults, which was a revelation to me.”
When speaking about the podcast, Burns to People, “There are a thousand podcasts you can listen to—this is one that listens back. I really want to continue what we started decades ago. For us, it was all about curious investigation. It was about looking a little closer. About asking the right questions. About following the clues that helped lead us toward greater understanding.”
“Alive is really just a continuation of that same conversation—only now we’re grown-ups, trying to make sense of a world that’s a whole lot more complicated,” he continued. “We’re still searching, still learning, still trying to connect. Still doing our best to lead deeply examined lives, together. And, you know, there’ll be less talking furniture, sure, but we’re still going to have a lot of fun along the way.”
Burns, who starred as a fictional version of himself in more than 100 episodes of Blue’s Clues between 1996 and 2002, became a cherished part of childhood for millions. His sudden departure from the show left fans stunned and heartbroken, but his return to the spotlight in recent years has been met with overwhelming love and nostalgia.
Now, with Alive, the 51-year-old is inviting those same fans to reconnect — this time not as kids searching for clues, but as adults navigating life’s ups, downs and bigger mysteries.
